Avient writes the sustainability e-book

When it comes to sustainability, materials manufacturer Avient Corp. wrote the book.

In fact, the Avon Lake, Ohio-based company recently authored a series of three sustainability e-books that are now available on the company’s website.

“As climate change continues to be one of the defining issues of our time, a commitment to sustainable solutions is essential,” officials wrote on the site. “You are a big part of the solution, and we’re here to help you move from a linear to a circular economy. We know that designing sustainable solutions often comes with challenges and questions. That’s why we created this series of e-books,” they wrote.

One of the e-books focuses on recycled PET and covers topics such as why the material is so popular, how it fits into the circular economy and what challenges it presents. Another e-book deals with the circular economy and examines a clear definition of this term, the relevance of the circular economy today and the material solutions that support it. The third e-book focuses on lightweighting and composites and includes information on how lighter materials reduce CO2 emissions and key applications that can benefit from these materials.

Avient regularly launches new sustainable products. In early 2021, the company launched Rejoin-branded post-consumer master colorants for polyolefin packaging. The colorants are made with post-consumer polyolefin as the carrier resin.

Avient is one of the largest manufacturers of concentrates in the world and one of the largest blenders and distributors of resins in North America. The company employs more than 8,000 people worldwide and had revenue of approximately $3.2 billion in 2020.
