Hisense Releases New Hi Reader e-Book Reader with 6.7-inch E Ink Screen
Hisense already has a few E Ink smartphones in its product portfolio. However, this time the company has come up with a dedicated e-book reader named Hi Reader. The device features a 6.7-inch E Ink display with a resolution of 300 PPI and an 84% screen-to-body ratio. The screen supports 36-level DC dimming and can adjust the brightness automatically with flickering. This way, you can still concentrate on reading with the display adjusting to ambient light, so you don’t have to do it manually.
Under the hood is a 1.8GHz UNISOC T610 Octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Power comes from a 3000mAh battery which should deliver decent run times. The Hi Reader runs Android 10, although it’s currently unknown if it can be upgraded to the latest Android 11. Additionally, at just 177 grams and 7.5mm thin, the Hi Reader comes across as an extremely handy e-book. player that you can carry in your pockets. Holding it on your hands for a long time will also not be a chore. The user interface is neat and clutter-free, which is nice and inviting.
Overall, the Hi Reader looks sleek and nice with its minimalist bezels and boxy build. It’s also easy on the pockets, priced at 1,799 yuan, or about $282. The device is currently only available in China and it’s unclear when it might end up on distant shores. However, it works in English, which will make it a solid and user-friendly pocket reader.
With a keen interest in technology, I make it a point to keep up to date with the latest developments in the world of technology and gadgets. This includes smartphones or tablets, but even extends to AI and self-driving automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. In addition to writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music or experimenting with different recipes. Cinema is another aspect that interests me a lot and maybe I will make a film in the future.
