IsDB Institute launches new e-book reading app
The Institute of Islamic Development Bank (IsDBI) is pleased to announce the release of a new e-book reader application dedicated to publications on Islamic economics and development.
The app was developed in partnership with a technology company, Koraspond Digital Marketing Agency, a subsidiary of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia-based Ethmar Advertising.
Leveraging innovative modern technologies and the Institute’s longstanding expertise in publishing Islamic economics, the app aims to serve as a repository of knowledge where users around the world can have a rich reading experience. and browsing publications on Islamic economics and finance.
Supporting Arabic, English and French languages, the new app is a comprehensive and user-friendly mobile app currently available on the Apple Store and Google Play. A desktop version is expected to be ready later in 2022.
The app has been integrated with the IsDB Institute website (IsDBinstitute.org), allowing users to purchase publications from the website, download them, and read them on the e-book reader app on their devices.
Various innovative features can be seen in the app including:
Standard reading tools such as bookmarks, search, text highlighting, built-in dictionary, ability to attach notes to selected text, etc.
A new interface design that improves the user experience.
Sharing eBook titles and quotes on all social media channels.
Ability to track users’ reading activity, such as number of books read, number of hours read, reading speed, and number of books shared.
eBooks are encrypted to prevent sharing, copying and distribution.
Synchronization between user devices.
Application interface available in Arabic, English and French.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr Sami Al-Suwailem, Acting Director General of IsDBI and Chief Economist of IsDB Group, said: “Our goal with the new e-reader app is to upgrade knowledge in Islamic economics. book reader will serve as an innovative and interactive platform with the most modern features and capabilities for e-books on Islamic economics and finance. »
Mr. Bilal Saeed, Business Development Manager of Koraspond, said, “In the next phase of our business, we will transfer the IsDBI Reader application to other platforms including Windows, Huawei and Google Chrome, in order to create broader accessibility. We will also integrate an AI-based algorithm to suggest relevant books to readers based on their response and preferences.”
